Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Awaygo collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our website and services.
Last updated: 27 August 2026
1. Who we are
Awaygo is operated by CDP Media. Awaygo is not a limited company and no other entity currently operates the service.
Awaygo helps you discover and compare travel options based on what matters to you. It may display accommodation, flights, prices, availability and other travel information supplied through third-party travel technology and travel providers.
Awaygo helps you discover and compare your trip. Bookings and payments are completed securely through our travel provider. Where a booking is completed in a provider's booking environment, that provider may separately collect and process the personal information needed to complete and administer the booking under its own privacy terms.

2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use the service, Awaygo may process:
- information you voluntarily enter into the service;
- account information, where you use account functionality;
- travel search criteria such as destination, dates, budget, number of travellers, board basis and accommodation preferences;
- saved trips or preferences, where you choose to save them;
- technical information such as browser and device information, IP address and security logs, where generated by our infrastructure providers;
- your consent preferences;
- website usage and interaction information, where analytics consent has been given;
- booking attribution and handoff information needed to determine whether users proceed to travel providers.
Awaygo's analytics implementation is designed not to send the natural-language search parameter q or the internal search reference s as GA4 page-location or page-path information.
3. How we use information
Information may be used to:
- provide and operate Awaygo;
- process searches and return relevant travel results;
- personalise results based on the criteria you supply;
- maintain accounts and saved functionality;
- maintain security and prevent abuse or fraud;
- understand service performance, where analytics consent has been given;
- diagnose technical problems;
- measure travel-provider handoffs and commercial attribution;
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Lawful bases
Depending upon the processing activity, Awaygo may rely upon:
- Contract / steps at your request — where processing is necessary to provide functionality or services you have requested.
- Consent — including optional analytics and advertising or marketing storage, where applicable.
- Legitimate interests — where necessary for proportionate operational, security, fraud-prevention and business purposes, and where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation — where information must be processed to comply with applicable law.
5. Analytics
Awaygo uses Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to understand how consenting visitors use the service.
Analytics tracking is controlled by Awaygo's consent system. Where analytics consent is denied, Awaygo's GA4 SPA page-view and funnel-event tags are blocked by consent settings.
You can change your choice at any time using in the website footer.
7. Travel providers and third parties
Awaygo works with third-party travel and technology providers and may redirect or hand you over to external services to complete a booking.
Third parties currently active in the production service include:
- Nuitée / LiteAPI — travel technology used to provide live accommodation and flight search functionality and to facilitate booking handoffs.
- Google — Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, used for consent-controlled analytics and tag management.
- Infrastructure providers — the hosting, database and authentication platforms that operate the Awaygo website and accounts.
Bookings and payments may be completed within the booking provider's environment. Where you enter payment card details directly into that environment, those details are provided to the booking provider and its payment processors and are not received by Awaygo or CDP Media.
Once you enter a third-party service, that provider's own privacy policy and terms may apply to your use of it.
8. International transfers
Some technology or travel providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, appropriate mechanisms should be used, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.
9. Data retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including operational, security, accounting and legal requirements.
Awaygo's stored cookie-consent preference currently expires after 180 days, after which consent may be requested again.
10. Your data-protection rights
Under applicable UK data-protection law you may, depending on the circumstances, have rights including:
- access;
- rectification;
- erasure;
- restriction;
- objection;
- data portability;
- withdrawal of consent.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
11. Security
Awaygo uses appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure.
12. Children
Awaygo is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children using the service independently. Users responsible for making travel arrangements involving children may need to provide traveller information to the relevant booking provider.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Awaygo, its providers or applicable laws change. Material updates will be reflected by changing the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
